The missions executed by the X-Men are successful, by Weapon X standards if not X-Men standards. While still reeling from what they were forced to do, they learn that Wolverine has also been captured. What they don't know is that Professor X isn't dead, but is instead strapped into some sort of elaborate machine with indeterminate purpose.
