The History of Earth-9997

The history of Earth X is a vast, interconnected mythology that reimagines the entire Marvel timeline. It suggests that Earth was actually an "incubator" for a Celestial embryo. To protect this embryo, the Celestials manipulated human evolution, creating the Inhumans and mutants to act as a planetary immune system.

The "modern" history begins when Black Bolt released the Terrigen Mists into the atmosphere, causing a worldwide mutation. This event ended the age of heroes and ushered in a dystopian era where being "super" became the burden of every living soul on the planet.
